Pre-Schools
We have an up to date listing of all the pre-schools and their contact details and class sizes.
Most Pre-Schools on the Island have waiting lists and also vary in their requirement of whether children should be potty trained or not. It is always a good idea to check with each individual school. Most operate separate groups for the 2-3 year olds and the 3-4 year olds. Some operate a policy where the younger children attend certain days and the older children attend others. This is not across the board and does vary according to the Pre-School.
We are lucky that our Pre-Schools maintain a self-imposed good standard and are also checked by stringent rules set by the States. We recommend that when choosing a Pre-School you take into consideration the convenience of the location, i.e. its proximity to your home or whether it is en route to work. Class size is also an important issue, though there are strict rules governing how many children are able to attend under the care of a qualified adult, a ratio of 4:1. In addition the amount of floor space will also dictate the amount of children allowed to attend.
Check out our list of schools for their details.
